"faces" by jessica carbone

I am an abstract/contemporary artist currently living in Dobbs Ferry, NY. I am a pre-school teacher at Childrenspace North, right here in Croton-on-Hudson. I was born and raised in Verplanck, another fellow river-town!

I have teetered in both graphic design and painting for 10+ years but over this last year I have primarily been painting. My favorite paints are acrylic but I always come back to oil. The small details of the painting are my primary focus when creating a new piece and that may be small drawings, words, or even tiny hidden cities. Don’t hesitate to get up close and personal with my pieces!

Another fun fact about my pieces is that my emotions and music really drive the direction of my paintings. I may have a direction but I often get lost on the way.

photographs by katie naclerio

Katie Naclerio is a photographer based in Ossining, NY

This series is an archive of medium format images from 2020-2021 of various locations along Cape Cod, MA. Locations include Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown. During this very weird year I took some time to take a step back from busy New York and head out to Wellfleet Massachusetts, where the population is only 2,729. Driving down Route 6 to provincetown is the most peaceful scenic route. With only a few cars alongside you the stress and anxiety from this past year fade away. I wanted to capture the simplicity of living on the tale end of Cape Cod. Creating images that are filled with color and lines. Making you feel like you are there and at ease.

hannah sklar

Hannah Sklar lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

Creating mixed media sculptures and graphite drawings, Hannah Sklar conjures meticulous, labored surfaces that meld elements of abstraction, figuration and ecology into a body of work, uneasily categorized. Visual motifs of corporal brick structures, sinewy femmes, anthropomorphic botanicals, and masonry, are seen as conversing characters in Sklar's speculative world, which aims to queer the boundaries of their body, built environment and dying earth.

Over the past year, Sklar has been drawn to illustrating flowers. They alter the familiar icon of ecological beauty and femininity into naunced portraits – conduits in which to express themes of queer desire, fortified daintyness and humorus speculation.

quilts by patricia loquet

After a lifetime of admiring quilts i finally took the steps to begin in 1998 and then joined the northern star quilters guild in 2001. the fellowship of my quilting “sisters” is the biggest reward, even more than the quilts themselves.

i don’t have a particular style or favorite color so each quilt can be very different from the next. i also make more comfort quilts (cq) than any other kind, numbering more than 200. cq’s are donated to hospitals, shelters, nursing homes, and to anyone in need of comfort. all family members have multiple bed quilts as do most of my dear friends.

“picture stories” by andrew courtney

Courtney wears three hats. on a good day all at the same time. Artist, teacher of art and activist for social change.

This exhibit will include photographs of Courtney’s work in seven world regions. Courtney has been called to Justice issues in the U.S., in Central America, Viet Nam, South Africa, Northern Ireland, Cuba, the Middle East. Often this work has to do with the people and places where acceptance meets challenge, where pious presumptions meet real experience. Each image regards a story of the subject, of an encounter, of a time.

Courtney’s work derives from special passions seasoned by the energy of dissent and much personal discovery. Exhibited images come from his determined curiosity fed by questions, listening, study and direct experience.
